Four Suspects Arrested in Connection with Murder of Retired Brigadier General in Abuja

Abuja, Nigeria – Operatives of the Nigeria Police have arrested four suspects linked to the murder of Brig. Gen. Harold Udokwere (Retd), the national chairman of Retired Members of the Nigerian Armed Forces. The retired general was killed during a robbery at his home in the Kubusa area of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) on Saturday.

Following the tragic incident, FCT Commissioner of Police, Bennett Igweh, initiated an investigation into Udokwere’s death. According to a police document obtained by PUNCH Online, the suspects were apprehended at various locations within the Apo area of the FCT by operatives from the Utako division.

The suspects have been identified as Ibrahim Rabiu, Nafiu Jamil, Aliyu Abdullahi, and Mohammed Nuhu. The document provided specific details about the suspects, including their ages, places of origin, and current residences:

  • Ibrahim Rabiu, 33, from Dala LGA, Kano State, residing at Rasha Apo Roundabout
  • Nafiu Jamil, 33, from Tofa LGA, Kano State, residing at Apo Pantekar
  • Aliyu Abdullahi, 47, from Shinkafi LGA, Zamfara State, residing at Apo Roundabout Abuja
  • Mohammed Nuhu, 28, from Kumbotso LGA, Kano State, residing at Apo Primary School

The document also mentioned that the knife allegedly used to stab the victim was recovered from the suspects.

Efforts to obtain a statement from the FCT Police Public Relations Officer, Josephine Adeh, were unsuccessful as she had not responded to messages or calls at the time of reporting.

This development marks a significant step forward in the investigation, bringing some hope of justice for the family and friends of the late Brigadier General.
