American singer and songwriter Beyoncé has recently been immortalised in wax at Paris’ Musée Grévin, joining the ranks of stars like Celine Dion, Ryan Gosling, Angelina Jolie, and Cristiano Ronaldo at the famed French museum.

The wax figure, created by sculptor Claus Velte, took six months to complete and was unveiled to much anticipation. However, just a day after the statue’s debut, it has sparked a wave of criticism from Beyoncé fans online.

Many fans have taken to social media to express their dissatisfaction, claiming that the wax likeness of the singer bears little resemblance to the real Beyoncé and is inaccurately portrayed as having a lighter skin tone. This criticism echoes a previous controversy at the museum, where adjustments were made to Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson’s statue last year after he requested that it better reflect his true skin colour.

As of now, Beyoncé has not publicly commented on the unveiling of her wax statue.
