Building Collapses in Osogbo, Traps Several People
A devastating incident occurred in the Sabo area of Osogbo, the capital of Osun State, on Sunday morning. A building suddenly caved in, sending shockwaves of panic through the neighborhood.
According to eyewitness Alaran, a resident of the area and a member of the Nigeria Hunters and Forest Security Service, a loud sound was heard around 7:30-8:00 am on Sunday. Alaran explained that some people were inside the building when it collapsed, and policemen and operatives of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps promptly responded to a distress call from the scene.
The building, which is not inhabited by anyone, is often used by people to smoke or gamble. Alaran revealed that some people were trapped in the rubble, but the exact number of casualties is still unknown.
As rescue efforts are underway, authorities are investigating the cause of the collapse. The incident has sent a wave of fear and anxiety through the community, with many residents left shaken by the sudden and unexpected disaster.
