Google Pixel 9 Pro May Launch with Free Gemini Advanced Subscription

Google’s upcoming Pixel 9 series, which includes the base model, Pixel 9 Pro, Pixel 9 Pro XL, and the Pixel 9 Pro Fold, may come with a free one-year subscription to Gemini Advanced, according to a recent report. This subscription offers a range of benefits, including 2TB of cloud storage and priority access to new features.

The details of this offer were spotted within the latest Google app beta (version 15.28) by 9to5Google. A string of code in the app contained a message stating that Pixel Pro users would receive a one-year subscription to Gemini Advanced, which is Google’s most capable AI model, at no additional cost.

It is unclear whether this offer will be exclusive to the Pixel 9 Pro or if it will be available on all three "Pro" models, including the Pixel 9 Pro XL and Pixel 9 Pro Fold. The report suggests that the offer may be triggered when the Google app is accessed using the designated phone.

Gemini Advanced is a subscription service that was launched by Google in February, alongside the introduction of the Gemini Pro AI model. It has since been replaced with the Gemini 1.5 Pro AI model, which features a one million token context window. The subscription offers users the ability to use Gemini features across Google’s apps, including Gmail, Docs, Sheets, and more. Subscribers will also have the opportunity to use new and experimental features before they are available to the general public.

In addition to the Gemini Advanced subscription, users will also receive 2TB of cloud storage and all other Google One benefits. The Gemini Advanced subscription is currently available in India for a monthly price of Rs. 1,950.

The Pixel 9 series is expected to be unveiled on August 13 at Google’s annual Made by Google event.
