Nigerian Songstress Simi Reveals She Only Listens to Her Husband’s Music

Nigerian singer-songstress Simisola Kosoko, professionally known as Simi, has made a surprising confession. In a recent appearance on the ‘Zero Conditions’ podcast, the musician revealed that she doesn’t listen to the music of other artists, except for that of her husband, singer Adekunle Gold.

Simi attributed her sole interest in her husband’s music to their marital status. "The reason I listen to my husband’s songs is because I’m married to him," she stated. This revelation has raised eyebrows, as many music lovers typically enjoy the work of other artists alongside their favorite artists.

Interestingly, Simi did mention that she has listened to Post Malone’s first album "Beerbongs & Bentleys" and loves J. Cole. However, she emphasized that these are the only exceptions to her general disinterest in the music of other artists. "I like Post Malone’s first album… and I love J. Cole," she said. "I don’t listen to anybody’s music. Nothing changed. I just don’t know."

When asked why she listens to her own album now that it has been released, Simi simply replied, "The reason I’m listening to my album now is because it just came out. In a few weeks, I probably won’t listen to it as much as I do now." It appears that her focus is more on promoting her own work and appreciating her husband’s music, given their personal connection.

Simi’s candid response has sparked a mix of reactions online, with some fans expressing curiosity and admiration for her dedication to her partner and artistic endeavors. As the music industry continues to evolve, Simi’s unique approach to enjoying music has certainly generated a fascinating conversation.
