BREAKING: Applicant Hacked to Death in Nigerian Army Depot

Tragedy struck the Nigerian Army Depot in Zaria when a young applicant was hacked to death by his fellow applicants, reportedly in a bid to withdraw about N800,000 from his bank account. The shocking incident has left many in the community stunned and questioning the motives behind the gruesome murder.

According to eyewitnesses, the lifeless body of the applicant, hailing from Gombe State, was discovered with knife cuts on a popular street in Sabon Gari Local Government Area of Kaduna State on Saturday morning.

A witness, who requested anonymity, revealed that the deceased had shared his financial struggles with his friends, who sent his parents close to a million naira to facilitate his recruitment into the Army Depot. The witness further claimed that on Friday afternoon, the deceased handed over his ATM card and password to one of his friends to withdraw N10,000 for food.

The witness expressed suspicions that the friends were behind the murder, citing their knowledge of the deceased’s ATM password and the large sum of money he had access to. The motive, however, remains unclear, with investigations ongoing.

The body of the deceased has been deposited at the Ahmadu Bello University Teaching Hospital, Shika. As of the time of filing this report, the Nigerian Army Depot and the police have not made any official statements on the incident.

The Nigerian public is left reeling in shock as the incident raises concerns about security and the safety of applicants within the army’s recruitment process.
