Enugu State Governor Alleges Biafra Activist is a “Murderer, Scammer, and Common Criminal”

Enugu State Governor, Dr. Peter Mbah, has condemned Biafra activist Simon Ekpa as a “murderer, scammer, and common criminal” who is exploiting the emotions and suffering of the Igbo people. In a strongly-worded statement, Mbah called on the people of the South East region to disregard Ekpa’s threats and sit-at-home orders, stating that his administration would not be intimidated by criminals.

Mbah’s criticism of Ekpa came during a meeting with members of the House of Representatives Committee on National Security and Intelligence, who were on an oversight working visit to the state. The governor emphasized the importance of security, highlighting the decision to end illegal sit-at-home orders enforced by non-state actors, which have held the people hostage psychologically and economically.

The governor also expressed displeasure at Ekpa’s continued residence in Finland, a country where the rule of law reigns, despite his alleged involvement in terrorism in Nigeria. Mbah urged the Finnish Government to take action to repatriate Ekpa and bring him to justice for his crimes.

The Enugu State governor assured the people of his state of their continued protection, emphasizing that the state would not be intimidated by criminals. He also urged the youths not to fall for Ekpa’s “cheap antics,” which are antithetical to the belief system and values of the people.

The incident has sparked concerns about the escalating tensions in the South East region and the need for a concerted effort to bring Ekpa to justice.
