Huawei’s Nova Flip Foldable Phone Launching in China on August 5 with HarmonyOS
Huawei has finally revealed the launch date of its much-awaited Nova Flip clamshell foldable phone in China. The company has shared multiple images and a teaser video, giving us a first look at the device’s design and features. The Huawei Nova Flip appears to have a small square-shaped external screen and dual rear cameras, showcasing it in four color options.
Alongside the Nova Flip, Huawei is also expected to launch new tablets and laptops on August 5. The company has confirmed that the Nova Flip will launch at 19:00 (4:30pm IST) in China, and it will be the first flip phone in the Nova series. Additionally, it will ship with HarmonyOS software, a new operating system developed by Huawei.
In the teaser video and images posted on Weibo, Huawei revealed the Nova Flip’s design, showcasing the green color variant of the flip-style foldable with a flat display and slim bezels. The phone features a square external screen, a departure from the circular design seen on Huawei’s Pocket series smartphones. The cover display has two vertically aligned cameras in the top-left corner, while the main display has a hole punch cutout to house the front-facing shooter and a power key that doubles as a fingerprint scanner.
The phone will be available in at least three finishes – black, pink, and white – with a metal frame. Huawei has also announced that it will introduce the MateBook GT 14, MatePad Pro 12.2, and more on August 5, with the Nova Flip expected to be priced more affordably compared to Huawei’s Pocket series.
