The Human Rights Writers Association of Nigeria (HURIWA) has urged the newly appointed Director‑General of the National Youth Service Corps, Yushau Dogara, to dismantle a syndicate that is producing counterfeit NYSC certificates. In a press conference in Abuja on Thursday, the group said it suspects the existence of such a syndicate and believes its purpose is to lure unsuspecting members of the public—particularly those seeking political office—and deceive them.

HURIWA identified the fraudulent documents as “Oluwole NYSC certificates” and warned that members of the syndicate may also be involved in the NYSC scheme itself. The organization called on the new DG to establish a committee to investigate the matter and expose those responsible for this illicit activity. “We will be writing to the Director‑General of the NYSC to task him with setting up an independent panel of investigators to uncover the members of this syndicate,” HURIWA said, as quoted by the Daily Post.
