Primate Elijah Ayodele of the INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church warned on Sunday that Rivers State Governor Nyesom Wike will only create trouble for the All Progressives Congress (APC) and its presidential candidate. In a statement released by his media aide, Oluwatosin Osho, Ayodele said the APC and its candidate, Bola Tinubu, are destined to fail in Rivers State. He described Wike’s support for Tinubu as “a pandemic” and asserted that anyone backed by the governor will lose. “Wike is playing with his political future, and this will dent his reputation. His people will not listen to him because he has crossed the line,” Ayodele added.

Ayodele also expressed doubt about the Independent National Electoral Commission’s (INEC) ability to conduct credible elections. He warned of potential fraud within the electoral body, noting, “INEC must be on point in this election; many hanky‑panky games will happen in the commission. I am worried about INEC’s electronic transmission and BVAS issues. There could be ways to misuse the devices if some officials are compromised.” He concluded that “there are cabals that want to frustrate INEC’s efforts; they are not interested in the success of this election.”
