NNPP Confident of Winning Katsina Local Government Elections on February 15, 2025

New Nigeria People’s Party Expresses Confidence in Winning Local Government Elections in Katsina State

The New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) has expressed confidence in winning the Chairmanship and Councilorship positions in the upcoming local government elections in Katsina State, Nigeria. The elections are slated to take place on February 15, 2025.

According to Alhaji Armaya’u Abdulkadir, Chairman of the party in the state, NNPP is fully ready to participate in the elections in some local government areas. The party is not contesting in all 34 local government areas due to the high cost of election forms, which the party cannot afford to purchase for candidates in all the local government areas.

Abdulkadir attributed the party’s confidence to the serious challenges faced under the current government, saying that nobody can deny the fact that the party is facing difficulties. He believes that the party’s credible grassroots politicians, who have been produced through its primary elections, are capable of winning the elections.

"We are not contesting in all the 34 local government areas, because the forms are too expensive, and we cannot afford to purchase for candidates in all the LGAs," Abdulkadir said. "Therefore, I wish to inform you that by the grace of God, we are expecting victory, because nobody can deny the fact that we are facing serious challenges under the current government."

In a related development, Alhaji Aliyu Shehu-Garo, National Vice Chairman, NNPP Northwest, unveiled the party’s new logo during a ceremony in Katsina. The logo was changed due to challenges experienced during previous elections, where some party supporters were unable to recognize the logo, leading to significant losses.

The new logo "symbolizing education for all, which is the most concerned area of Kwankwasiya leader, Dr. Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso," aims to rectify this issue and prevent it from happening again. Shehu-Garo commended loyal party members for their commitment to promoting the party’s ideals in the state, describing Katsina as one of the party’s pride states in the northern part of the country.

NNPP’s vice chairman also urged party candidates to work towards moving the state and country forward, rather than focusing on personal aggrandizement.
