The rally, attended by Labour Party dignitaries, including Peter Obi and Datti Baba-Ahmed, marked an energetic start to the election campaign.

Speaking before Spyro’s performance, Labour Party’s 2023 flagbearer, Peter Obi, lamented the hardship in the country and called on the Edo electorate to vote for change. "Today, Labour Party is the only big party in Nigeria with a woman as our national chairman," Obi said, emphasizing the party’s progressive values. "It’s time to retire the old and bring in fresh blood. Olu Akpata is not just our candidate, he is the governor we need."
