Edo Governorship Election: Defeated Candidate Thanks Supporters
The 2024 Edo State governorship election may have concluded, but the drama is far from over. Asue Ighodalo, the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has thanked his supporters for their unwavering commitment to his campaign, despite the outcome.
According to the results declared by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Ighodalo came second with 247,274 votes behind Monday Okpebholo of the All Progressives Congress (APC) who scored 291,667 votes. Olumide Akpata of the Labour Party (LP) trailed behind with 22,763 votes.
