2023: Monarch warns against political violence, election malpractice

The Chairman of the Yobe State Council of Traditional Rulers and Emir of Fika, Alhaji Muhammadu Ibn Abali Muhammadu Idrissa has cautioned his subjects against political violence, thuggery and election malpractice.

The monarch gave the warning on Monday when he took a sensitization campaign against social vices to some hard-to-reach communities under his domain.

In all the places visited, the Royal Father admonished dwellers to shun all forms of political violence, thuggery, campaign of hatred, election malpractice and other unwanted acts.

However, the traditional ruler who expressed sadness over the practice of indiscriminate cutting of trees in his kingdom, warned that if not controlled, it can lead to serious environmental degradation, desert encroachment and erosion.

The Emir used the forum to also sensitize his subjects on the forthcoming National Population Census exercise where he encouraged them to fully participate by ensuring that they are counted.

At Boza community, the people in the area lamented the terrible condition of the only Primary School in their community.

They pleaded with the King to present their case to the authorities for the total rehabilitation or construction of a new Primary School to check the out-of-school children syndrome in the community.

The community also made a strong case for the provision of boreholes to ease their hardship.

The Chairman, Council of Traditional Rulers has so far toured Kukar Gadu, Daya and Boza; and is expected to move to Janga, Ngalda, Fika, Maluri districts as well as other hard-to-reach communities under his domain in the next couple of days.
