PDP Suspends National Vice Chairman Over Anti-Party Activities

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Oguduokwor Ward, Onicha Local Government Area of Ebonyi State, has suspended its National Vice Chairman for the South East zone, Ali Odefa. The suspension, effective immediately, was announced on Friday in Abuja following a meeting of the Ward Executive Committee.

According to Herbert Onyedikachi, the acting Chairman of the PDP Oguduokwor Ward, Odefa’s suspension is due to alleged anti-party activities and other offences considered detrimental to the party’s image and interests. Onyedikachi stated that the decision was made in accordance with Section 57(3) of the PDP Constitution, which grants the Ward Executive Committee the authority to suspend party officials.

The acting Chairman also revealed that the Committee has referred Odefa to the Ward Disciplinary Committee for further action. He emphasized that the suspension and disciplinary referral are intended to maintain party discipline and uphold the values and principles of the PDP.

Onyedikachi urged party members to remain committed to the PDP’s objectives and goals, adding that the suspension is necessary to ensure the party’s continued success and growth.

The development comes as a surprise to many, given Odefa’s high-profile position within the party. However, the PDP has made it clear that it will not tolerate any behavior that undermines the party’s integrity and reputation.

As the PDP continues to navigate the complex world of Nigerian politics, this move is seen as a significant step towards maintaining party discipline and ensuring the party’s continued relevance in the country’s political landscape.
