Nollywood Star Toyin Abraham Hits Back at Fashion Designer Over Debt Allegations

Popular Nigerian actress Toyin Abraham has responded to a call-out by a fashion designer on social media, who accused her of owing her millions of naira over a debt that has not been paid for over a year.

The designer, @stitchesbyandra, took to her Instagram stories to share a message claiming that Toyin, alongside Annie Idibia and Gabriel Anthony, had owed her a debt worth millions of naira for 1 year and 2 months. The post read, “My patient is running out already. 1 year and 2 months. How can you be with someone’s millions and feel so reluctant?”

Reacting to the allegation, Toyin Abraham denied any wrongdoing in an Instagram post on Friday night. She explained that the situation had been “completely misunderstood” and that there had been a miscommunication over the ownership of some dresses provided for a photoshoot.

According to Toyin, the dresses had been borrowed for the shoot, and once they had been used, she handed them back to Gabriel, who had brought them to the set. She claims to have paid in full for a hairpiece she bought from the designer’s friend, who had contributed the dresses.

Toyin’s statement continued, saying that she had called Gabriel immediately after seeing the allegations online to clarify the situation. Gabriel reportedly confirmed that the dresses had already been returned to him and were subsequently borrowed by someone else. Toyin concluded, “Therefore, it is no longer my responsibility. I hope this clears the confusion.”

The drama unfolded when the designer accused the Nollywood stars of refusing to pay her for their alleged debt. Toyin has now taken to social media to clear her name, stating that the allegations were unfounded and had caused unnecessary confusion.

With over a decade of experience in the entertainment industry, Toyin Abraham has consistently wowed fans with her outstanding performances in various Nigerian movies and TV shows. It remains to be seen whether this controversy will impact her career or if her loyal fan base will come out in support of their favorite actress.
