Iran’s Supreme Leader Honors Revolutionary Guards Commander for Israel Missile Attacks
Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei has decorated the commander of the Revolutionary Guards Aerospace Force, General Amirali Hajizadeh, with the Order of Fath, also known as the “Conquest” in Farsi, for the country’s recent missile attacks on Israel. According to Khamenei’s website, the decoration was bestowed due to the successful “Honest Promise” operation.
General Hajizadeh, 62, has been heading the Guards Aerospace Force since its creation in 2009. The move comes days after the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) fired over 200 missiles at Israel in retaliation for an Israeli air strike that killed Hezbollah chief Hassan Nasrallah and IRGC top general Abbas Nilforoushan in Beirut. This marks Iran’s second direct attack on Israel in six months, following a missile and drone assault in April.
The IRGC launched the attack on Tuesday, with Iran’s top military officials stating that it was a response to Israel’s aggression. Israel, however, has vowed to respond to the missile attacks, escalating tensions in the region.
The Order of Fath is a high honor bestowed by the Iranian Supreme Leader, and General Hajizadeh is the first commander of the Guards Aerospace Force to receive it. The move demonstrates Iran’s commitment to supporting its military forces and honoring their bravery and sacrifices.
The situation in the region remains tense, with the threat of further conflict and escalation hanging over the international community. As the crisis unfolds, the world will be watching closely to see how the situation develops.
