The Governor of Ebonyi State, Dave Umahi, told supporters at the APC South‑East grand finale rally in Owerri on Tuesday that the Igbo will vote for the All Progressives Congress and its presidential candidate, Bola Tinubu, because of the Second Niger Bridge built by President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration. “The South‑East is grateful to the President for the bridge,” Umahi said, adding that this gratitude would translate into votes for the APC.

Imo State Governor Hope Uzodimma also pledged his state’s support for the APC in the February 25 presidential election. “Imo people are grateful to Mr President,” Uzodimma declared, noting that the federal government had approved road projects and security initiatives in Imo. “It is time to reciprocate that support by voting for the APC.”

Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwu‑Olu said that the Igbo residents of his state in the South‑West were backing Tinubu and were ready to vote for him.

During the rally, Tinubu promised that, if elected, his administration would continue President Buhari’s development programmes and would add value to real estate and education in the country. He accused the PDP of mismanaging Nigeria’s treasury, calling the party “liars,” and emphasized that the APC’s development agenda would persist. Tinubu outlined specific plans for Imo State, including boosting tourism, investing in education, rebuilding roads, ending ASUU strikes, enhancing revenue generation, and improving security in partnership with the state government.
