In a daring operation, troops from the Nigerian Army’s 401 Special Forces Brigade have successfully rescued eight kidnapped passengers in Benue State. The operation was carried out following credible intelligence on a kidnapping incident along the Zaki Biam-Tine Nune Road in Ukum Local Government Area.

According to Captain Abdullahi Lawal Osabo, acting Assistant Director of Army Public Relations for the 401 Special Forces Brigade, troops swiftly mobilized to the scene and rescued a Hiace Bus belonging to Taraba Express International. The bus, with registration number KLD – 543XA, was traveling from Onitsha to Jalingo with 10 passengers, including the driver.

However, upon arrival at the scene, the kidnappers, realizing that troops were closing in on them, absconded with two passengers. The rescued victims are reported to be in good condition, and efforts are ongoing to hand them over to the relevant authorities.

The Nigerian Army has confirmed that troops are combing the general area to ensure the safe rescue of the remaining two passengers. The successful operation is a testament to the Nigerian Army’s commitment to protecting the lives and property of citizens.

As the search for the remaining two passengers continues, the Nigerian Army’s efforts have been commended for their bravery and professionalism in executing the rescue operation.
