Kamoru Ogunlana Appointed New Clerk of Nigeria’s National Assembly

The National Assembly Service Commission has appointed Mr. Kamoru Ogunlana as the new Clerk of the National Assembly, effective January 2, 2025. The appointment follows the retirement of the incumbent, Sani Magaji Tambuwal.

In an official statement released by the Deputy Director of Information, Emmanuel Onyigor, the commission confirmed the decision, which was reached during its 610th meeting on November 6, 2024. The appointment letter, signed by Commission Chairman Engineer Ahmed Kadi, emphasized Ogunlana’s dedication and administrative competence, qualities that led to his selection.

“The National Assembly Service Commission (NASC)…approved your appointment as Clerk to the National Assembly (CNA), with effect from 2nd February, 2025,” the letter read.

The commission expressed confidence in Ogunlana’s ability to uphold the standards of his new role, urging him to work diligently to justify the trust placed in him.
