The Kebbi State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has condemned the recent bandit attack on Mera community in Augie Local Government Area of the state.

The state chairman of the party, Usman Suru, extended condolences on behalf of the Working Committee, Party Elders, and the State Working Committee to the State Government, Argungu Emirate Council, and Augie Local Government Council, describing the incident as shocking and unfortunate.

This is coming in the wake of the attack which claimed the lives of 15 residents on Friday.

The PDP also urged the State Government to stop the use of public resources on what it termed frivolous foreign trips that have yielded little benefits for the state.

Rather than seeking financial support from countries facing their own economic challenges, the PDP urged the government to invest resources in creating an environment that attracts sustainable investments to Kebbi State.

The party suggested that funds be directed towards establishing and equipping Free Trade Zones, International Border Markets, and reviving industries at Bulasa Industrial Layout.

Emphasising the need for meaningful and effective local investment, the PDP advised the state government to focus on initiatives that would foster long-term economic growth, stability and employment opportunities for the people of Kebbi.
