Ondo guber: IPAC warns against vote-buying

The Inter-Party Advisory Council, IPAC, has issued a stern warning against vote-buying in the Saturday’s Ondo State governorship election.

Chairman of IPAC, Yusuf Dantalle, gave the warning at a stakeholders’ voters sensitization programme in Akure, Ondo state capital.

He also urged the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, and security agencies to remain neutral and impartial

Dantalle charged them to ensure a level-playing field for all political parties and candidates.

The IPAC boss appeals to all stakeholders to adhere to the principles of democracy, respect the rights of others, and prioritize the interests of Ondo people and Nigeria in general.

“Your roles are critical in maintaining the trust and confidence of the electorate. We need to see the neutrality of the respective institutions to promote our nascent democracy.

“To all stakeholders, let us remember, an election is not war! It is simply an exercise in a democracy, where we choose leaders who will promote good governance, accountability, and development.

“As stakeholders, we must prioritise peace, equity and justice. Let us work together to create an environment conducive to credible elections,” he said.
