APC did not participate in Zamfara LG election but scored more votes – Chieftain, Umar

A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, APC in Zamfara State, Abdulahi Umar has questioned why the ruling Peoples Democratic Party, PDP should clinch all the chairmanship and Councillorship positions in the State.

According to him, the PDP chairmen are only governing members of the party, and not everyone as they were not properly elected according to the Electoral Act.

“We are waiting for general elections of 2027, to revolt against the PDP through the ballot box”, he added.

“You can see that even last Saturday’s local government election, APC did not participate, but it scored more votes in all local government areas of the state”

He explained that the APC failed in the 2023 general elections due to some cracks within the party’s walls, saying that before 2027, everything must have been amended.

“We have learned our lessons and we will not allow such mistakes to repeat themselves. APC has been accepted by the people in the state but PDP just grabbed power by chance”

Umar further stated that the leaders of the party are watching the happenings in the State and planning what steps to take against the 2027 general elections.

“We are prepared to wrestle power from the PDP in the state, forget about the fracas within APC. I assure you that everything will be settled before that time”
