Manchester United have revealed how much it cost the club to sack Erik ten Hag as their manager and hire Ruben Amorim.

The figures were contained in the Premier League club’s latest financial reports.

United began their season on a poor note, after having handed Ten Hag a two-year contract extension in the summer.

The Dutchman was eventually dismissed after winning only four matches in the first 14 in all competitions.

Earlier this month, the Red Devils announced the appointment of Amorim from Sporting CP and the Portuguese coach joined Old Trafford a couple of weeks ago.

As per their financial statement, Ten Hag’s departure cost United £10.4 million ($13.1m), including compensation for other departing staff members like Ruud van Nistelrooy.

They also had to shell out £11 million ($13.9m) to sign Amorim, including paying the release clause to Sporting, buying out his notice period and bringing his coaching staff to Old Trafford.
