Crystal Palace defender Marc Guehi has defended his decision to write ‘Jesus loves you’ on his Rainbow armband.

According to him, it is a message of “love, truth and inclusivity.”

Guehi avoided punishment for writing on his Rainbow armband again, despite receiving a warning from the Football Association, FA.

The 24-year-old had written “I love Jesus” on it before Saturday’s game against Newcastle.

Not put off by the warning, Guehi wrote “Jesus loves you” on his armband in the 1-0 win over Ipswich Town on Tuesday.

“I think the message was pretty clear, to be honest,” Guehi told Sky Sports.

“It’s a message of love and truth as well and a message of inclusivity, so it speaks for itself.”
