Leadership crisis, court cases behind my defection to APC – LP Rep member, Esosa Iyawe

The House of Representatives member for Oredo Constituency of Edo State, Esosa Iyawe, has explained why he dumped the Labour Party, LP, for the All Progressives Congress, APC.

Iyawe said he defected to the APC due to the leadership crisis and numerous court actions against leaders of the LP.

He disclosed that his defection from LP to APC was in line with his political interests.

Iyawe and three other LP Rep members defected to the ruling APC.

However, in a statement he signed on Thursday, Iyawe blamed his defection on the inability of LP’s leadership to identify the legitimate Caretaker Committee from the national to state levels.

He said, “I am writing to formally tender my resignation as a member of the Labour Party (LP), effective immediately.
