Tottenham vs Chelsea: Maresca’s men ready to emphasize EPL title ambitions [A preview]

Chelsea will have the chance to close the gap between them and Liverpool to four points when they travel to Tottenham Hotspur in Sunday’s late kick-off.

The Blues are making quiet progress under new manager Enzo Maresca.

But the Italian is always quick to dismiss their title credentials.

“I’ve said, to be in the title race is nice pressure for me and for the players. It’s not the kind of pressure that you don’t like.

“It’s the kind of pressure you like because you are in the title race.

“But it’s not our case (this season). Hopefully we soon we can be there,” Maresca said earlier this week.

But ahead of this London Derby, they sit in second place with 28 points, only above Arsenal on goal difference.

Chelsea have been victorious in each of their last four matches across all competitions – including their last three away from home.

And they go into the game against Tottenham as big favourites.

On the other hand, no one can make anything of Spurs’ run of form.

They have only won one of their last six matches across all tournaments and it was their 4-0 upset of champions Manchester City a couple of weeks ago.

However, the Lilywhites are bidding to score for the 10th home game running in all competitions this weekend.
