Bundesliga: Boniface set for quick return after injury layoff

Bayer Leverkusen manager, Xabi Alonso has said Victor Boniface is poised to return to action after his injury layoff.

Boniface has been sidelined since sustaining a thigh injury on international duty last month.

The 23-year-old was initially expected to miss action for the remainder of the year.

Alonso has now revealed the all action striker has make a quick recovery from the injury

“Certainly not against Augsburg. We’ll see about next week’s match against Freiburg. There’s still hope,” Alonso told a press conference.

Boniface has scored eight goals and provided one assist in 11 appearances across all competitions for Die Werkself this season.
