The Nigeria Women Football League, NWFL has concluded plans to increase the number of clubs participating in its league for the 2025-26 season.

The number of clubs will increase from 16 to 20 teams.

The NWFL made the declaration on the new league structure at the just concluded Annual General Assembly, AGA, in Abuja on Tuesday.

The league body states that arrangements will be put in place for a successful take-off.

Media Talk Africa recalls that the NWFL started with 12 teams in 2017.

Rivers Angels have won seven NWFL titles since its inception.
