Serie A: Fonseca blames Chukwueze injury for AC Milan’s draw vs Roma

Embattled AC Milan manager, Paulo Fonseca, has said Samuel Chukwueze’s injury contributed to his team’s failure to beat AS Roma in Sunday’s Serie A clash.

Chukwueze, who was named in the starting line-up put up an impressive display in the keenly contested encounter.

The winger was, however, forced off the pitch two minutes after the hour mark due to injury.

Fonseca claimed the 25-year-old’s injury affected the team’s game plan.

“In the first half, we created several chances to score. Very fair attitude from the players,” he said after the game.

“But with Chukwueze’s exit, we lost a lot and took a lot of risks. We deserved to win, but we missed many chances.”
