Katsina state offers over N50m to alleviate suffering of bandits victims

The Katsina State government has distributed over N50 million to victims of bandit attacks in Matazu, Kankia, and Batsari local government areas.

Saidu Ibrahim Danja, the Senior Special Assistant on Victims of Banditry and Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs), presented the funds to the beneficiaries.

He emphasized that the disbursement was not compensation but a form of support aimed at easing the victims’ hardships.

Danja noted that the funds were released on the directive of Governor Dikko Umar Radda, following an assessment of the affected individuals in the three local government areas.

He added that Governor Radda’s administration has consistently provided similar assistance over the past two years to families who lost loved ones and others affected by bandit attacks.

Danja also called on the people of Katsina to pray for an end to insecurity in the state and to assist security agencies by providing intelligence on criminal hideouts.

Musa Maikudi, Chairman of Kankia Local Government, advised the beneficiaries to use the funds wisely and commended the state government for its proactive measures in addressing insecurity.

This initiative underscores the government’s commitment to supporting affected individuals and alleviating the impact of banditry on communities in Katsina State.
