Transfer: ‘You need games’ – Cole advises 20-year-old striker to snub Arsenal for EPL rivals

Former Chelsea star, Joe Cole has advised 20-year-old Brighton striker, Evan Ferguson to snub transfer interest from Arsenal and join Premier League rivals West Ham United.

Brighton have made the Republic of Ireland international, who is rated at £60m, available on loan this month, according to The Telegraph.

Both Arsenal and West Ham are considering a move for Ferguson this January transfer window.

However, Cole wants Ferguson turn down any approach from the Premier League North London club, insisting that the youngster ‘need games.’

Speaking on The Dressing Room, Cole discussed Ferguson’s future with former footballers Carlton Cole and Wayne Bridge.

“What’s the likelihood of West Ham outbidding Arsenal?” Bridge asked.

Cole said: “Listen, if I’m his agent I’m saying to him go to West Ham.

“You are not going to get into the Brighton team.

“You are going to take a step up and play, you need games, you are a young kid you need games, come and play for West Ham, it has not worked for Fullkrug yet, go there.”

Ferguson is currently recovery from an ankle problem.

He has missed Brighton’s last three Premier League matches as a result of the injury.
