Chelle will take Super Eagles to next level — NFF boss, Gusau

President of the Nigeria Football Federation, NFF, Ibrahim Gusau has said newly appointed Super Eagles head coach, Eric Chelle has what it what it takes to take the team to a new level.

Chelle was named substantive head coach of the Super Eagles last week.

The Malian was presented to the media in Abuja on Monday.

The 47-year-old put pen to paper on a two-year contract with the option of an additional year.

The former Lens defender has been saddled with the responsibility of ensuring Nigeria earn a berth at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

“I see in the new head coach the right spirit and the right attitude, and I have faith that he will take the Super Eagles to the next level.

“He sees the job of leading the Super Eagles as his dream job, and that is a huge motivation in itself.

“Coach Chelle recognizes and appreciates what is ahead of him, and he says he loves the challenge. We will be there giving him the necessary support all the way,” Gusau was quoted by thenff.com.
