West Ham United are considering a move for Nottingham Forest forward Taiwo Awoniyi. According to The Sun, the Hammers are looking to sign the Nigeria international on loan for the remainder of the season. While a permanent transfer has also been discussed, Nottingham Forest’s £20 million valuation may pose a significant obstacle.
West Ham is in urgent need of attacking reinforcements due to injuries affecting forwards Michail Antonio, Jarrod Bowen, and Niclas Fullkrug. Awoniyi might be inclined to join West Ham, especially after finding himself in a secondary role to Chris Wood this season.
The 27-year-old has managed to score once for Forest in the Premier League this term. Media Talk Africa notes that the striker was previously linked with a move to West Ham last summer.
