Nigerian President Bola Tinubu has urged Africa to leverage its potential for self-development. He emphasized that the continent possesses the necessary resources and capabilities to foster its own growth.

President Tinubu made this call during a meeting with Rwandan President Paul Kagame in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, on Monday. Both leaders are attending the Sustainability Week, which runs from January 12 to 18, as reported by Media Talk Africa.

At the summit, the Nigerian leader plans to showcase his administration’s reforms, which focus on energy sufficiency, transportation, public health, and economic development. In a post on his official X handle, he shared insights from his discussions with President Kagame, stating, “Africa has what it takes to develop itself. We have the resources, the people, and the capacity. We must look inward to improve intra-African trade and collaboration to benefit the African people and the continent. The time for Africa is now.”

Media Talk Africa also noted that President Tinubu arrived in Abu Dhabi on Sunday at the invitation of Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the President of the United Arab Emirates.
