Nasarawa United has announced the signing of eight new players for the second half of the 2024/25 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) season. The newly recruited players include Benson Abbey and Abubakar Aliyu, who joined from Shooting Stars, as well as Peace Dewan, who moved from Sunshine Stars. Additionally, Solomon Chigozie has teamed up from Kwara United, while Onyema Emmanuel and Ugochukwu Leonard have transferred from Heartland and Ikorodu City, respectively. Peter Eneji and Benjamin Jack have also linked up with the team, coming from Busaiteen FC in Bahrain and Golden Boot FC in Benin Republic.
Nasarawa United’s chairman, Solomon Babanjah, expressed optimism that these new signings will enhance the squad’s performance. He stated, “This is a major statement of intent from the Club, and we are confident that these signings will help us achieve our goals in the second half of the 2024/25 Nigeria Premier Football League campaign.”
Babanjah emphasized the significance of the new players, noting that they are well-known figures who have made their mark in Nigeria’s top-flight league. He acknowledged the club’s current precarious position in the league but expressed confidence that the acquisition of these top-class players will enable the team to turn things around and reclaim its rightful place at the top of the league. He also appealed for the support and prayers of all key stakeholders to help the team navigate through this challenging phase.
