The Home Eagles have been placed in Group D of the 2024 African Nations Championship (CHAN), where they will compete against defending champions Senegal, Sudan, and Congo Brazzaville. The draw ceremony for the tournament occurred on Wednesday night at the Kenyatta International Convention Centre (KICC) in Nairobi, Kenya.
Notably, Group D is unique as it is the only group consisting of four teams, while the other three groups each contain five teams. Group A includes co-hosts Kenya, two-time champions Morocco, Angola, DR Congo, and Zambia. Meanwhile, Group B features Tanzania alongside Madagascar, Mauritania, Burkina Faso, and the Central African Republic. Group C comprises Uganda, Niger, and Guinea, with two additional teams to be confirmed later.
This biennial competition, co-hosted by Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda, is set to take place in August.
