Leave Faleke out of 2027 election speculations - Rep Abejide tells supporters

Leke Abejide, a member of the Federal House of Representatives representing Yagba East, West, and Mopamuro Federal Constituency in Kogi State, has urged his supporters to refrain from involving his colleague, James Faleke, in divisive political discourse. In a statement issued on Wednesday in Abuja, Abejide addressed political comments that linked Faleke to speculations regarding the 2027 elections in Yagba Federal Constituency.

Abejide dismissed these claims as baseless and reaffirmed his commitment to governance and improving the welfare of his constituents. He expressed confidence that Hon. Faleke did not authorize the comments attributed to him, stating, “I am very sure and confident that Hon. Faleke did not send them to utter all those words credited to him. They are only using his name to curry favour for themselves.” He urged political actors to avoid actions that could disrupt unity and progress within the community.

As the Chairman of the House Committee on Customs, Abejide conveyed his respect for Faleke, emphasizing that his colleague would not endorse such divisive actions. He highlighted the importance of integrity in political discourse and warned against distractions that could hinder development efforts. “Please, and please, leave Hon. Abiodun Faleke out of this unhealthy politics some people started in December 2024 for an election that is still in 2027,” he added.

The lawmaker criticized individuals he referred to as “political jobbers” for attempting to shift focus from governance to premature politicking. He reiterated his commitment to executing his constituency’s first budget for his second term and alleviating the hardships faced by his constituents. “My focus remains on governance to alleviate the suffering of our people,” Abejide concluded.
