EPL: West Ham to sign Chelsea player for Graham Potter

West Ham United are reportedly interested in signing Chelsea defender Ben Chilwell for their new manager Graham Potter.

Chilwell has been deemed surplus to requirements by current Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca.

According to Football Insider, West Ham are willing to offer the 28-year-old a career lifeline.

The Hammers want to bolster Potter’s squad this January transfer window and believe Chilwell would be a good addition to his squad.

Chilwel was among the four players Maresca left out of his match day squad in the 2-2 with Bournemouth in the Premier League a few days ago.

The England international is down the pecking order of defenders in Maresca’s squad.

Maresca prefers the likes of Marc Cucurella and Renato Veiga as his left-back options ahead of Chilwell.

Chilwell was recently been linked with a January transfer move away from the west London club.
