Bashir Ahmad criticises Peter Obi’s silence over EFCC operative’s Killing

A former media aide to ex-President Muhammadu Buhari, Bashir Ahmad, has criticised former Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi, for his silence over the killing of an operative of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Aminu Sahabi.

Sahabi Salisu was killed after a suspected internet fraudster, identified as Joshua Chukwubueze Ikechukwu, shot at him and his squad during a raid in Akwa, Anambra State.

However, Ahmad berated Obi over his silence, stressing that he would have reacted if the deceased had been of Igbo extraction.

Posting on X, Ahmad wrote: “Haba Babban Yaya! Hoping that Peter Obi would condole with the EFCC and the family of Aminu Sahabi, and also strongly condemn the brutal killing, shouldn’t be seen as an attack on his person.

“The reason I expected him to do so is because it aligns with his usual tactics, but he woefully failed to do so this time, unfortunately.

“We all know that if the situation were reversed, if an Aminu had brutally killed a Chinedu in Sokoto under similar circumstances, Peter Obi would not have chosen to remain silent.

“I can only say your boss’s silence in this case only reinforces our expectations of him.”
