EPL: Arsenal advancing to sign Nypan

Arsenal have stepped up their pursuit to sign Rosenberg midfielder Sverre Nypan in the January transfer window.

The Athletic reports that while no agreement or firm decision has been made on Nypan’s future, the Premier League North London club are advancing in discussions with Rosenberg as well as the player’s representatives over a possible transfer.

The report added that the Gunners are hopeful that Nypan’s relationship with fellow coutryman Martin Odegaard could help influence the 18-year-old’s decision.

Arsenal will have to battle Premier League rival Manchester City, who are also interested in signing Nypan.

Nypan has already made 50 appearances for Rosenborg.

He is rated as one of Europe’s most promising young players at the moment.

The youngster could be available for a £10million fee, with a January move more feasible.

Any deal would likely see Nypan come straight into Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta’s immediate first-team despite the player’s relative inexperience.
