Chelsea have completed the signing of young midfielder Mathis Amougou from French Ligue 1 side St Etienne.
The talented midfielder joined the Blues for a fee of 15 million Euros.
The 19-year-old is expected to stay at Stamford Bridge for the next eight years but will be sent on loan to Strasbourg next season.
Football transfer expert Fabrizio Romano made this known on his official X handle on Wednesday.
“Officially confirmed. Mathis Amougou joins Chelsea as a talented 19-year-old midfielder from St Etienne, costing a €15m package,” he wrote.
“Contract valid for the next 8 years.”
“Amougou will be part of the Chelsea team, then set to go on loan to Strasbourg next season and back in 2026.”
Media Talk Africa reports that Amougou has three brothers: one elder, a twin, and one younger, all of whom also play football.
