I’m Amaechi’s friend – Peterside Dakuku

The former Director General of the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency, NIMASA, Dakuku Peterside, on Wednesday, declared that he is not on the side of the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike.

Peterside said he does not belong to Wike’s camp, adding that he aligns with Wike’s predecessor, Rotimi Amaechi.

The former All Progressives Congress governorship hopeful spoke during Channels Television’s Politics Today programme on Wednesday.

Peterside said: “I am a friend of Rotimi Amaechi, I am not on the side of Nyesom Wike.”

He, however, said he was ready to provide advice to the incumbent governor on how to move the state forward.

“When Nyesom Wike was governor, recall that I was writing open letters to him consistently, giving him my advice. I did that for some time.

“If Governor Fubara seeks my advice, of course, I am willing to give it, like I do for many governors,” he said.

Rivers is one of the politically charged states in Nigeria, a situation which can be attributed to the large votes and wealth of the oil-rich state.
