Nathan Tella has claimed Bayer Leverkusen’s Goal of the Month for January, Media Talk Africa reports.
It’s the first time the Nigeria international will be winning the award since his arrival at Bayer Leverkusen.
The winger beat Alejandro Grimaldo, Florian Writz and Patrick Schick to the award.
Tella won the award for his blistering strike in Die Werkself’s 3-2 victory over Borussia Dortmund.
The 25-year-old unleashed a powerful shot from the edge of the box after he was set up by Robert Andrich.
The goal was his first in the Bundesliga this season.
He has made 17 league appearances for Xabi Alonso’s side.
