Ballon d’Or 2025: Thierry Henry, Carragher, Micah Richards predicts player to win award

Football legends, Thierry Henry, Jamie Carragher, and Micah Richards have predicted who would win the 2025 Ballon d’Or award.

According to them the most coveted individual award in football may end in the hands of Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah or Real Madrid winger Vinicius Jr.

They feel both men are the two most likely candidates to take home the prestigious title for 2025.

Despite his contract situation at Anfield, Salah has remained consistently on high level.

This season alone, the Egyptian International has notched in 26 goals and 18 assists in 34 appearances across all competitions.

His excitement performance has kept the Reds atop the Premier League and UEFA Champions League standings.

Vinicius on the other hand has picked up where he left off last season, delivering consistent performances for Los Blancos.

He has 16 goals and 11 assists in 30 appearances across all competitions Carlo Ancelotti’s side.

The 2024 Ballon d’Or generated a lot controversies with Many claiming that Vinicius was snubbed when Spain international Rodri was handed the award in Paris.

While Vinicius Jr is on track to beat his record from last season, Liverpool play-maker, Salah’s sublime form has placed him firmly in the race for the title.

The former football stars, who were on punditry duties on CBS Sports when Real Madrid played Manchester City at the Etihad, were asked by the presenter, Kate Abdo for their opinions on the race for the 2025 Ballon d’Or.

Carragher, promptly replied, “Mohamed Salah!” Henry concurred with his fellow panelists, saying, “I’m with Jamie, yeah, if he carries on like that.”

Richards said: “He (Vinicius) is my mate but probably Salah as well.”

Henry, a former Arsenal goal machine, then asserted that team success might have a part to play in the eventual result.

He added, “It depends on what they will win.”
