Chelsea not planning to sign free agent striker – Maresca

Chelsea boss, Enzo Maresca has insisted that the Blues are not planning to sign any free agent striker.

Maresca spoke ahead of Chelsea’s Premier League tie with Brighton on Friday night.

Chelsea have been linked with a move to sign a new top striker in the last two transfer windows.

The Blues, however, failed to bring in any striker despite being linked with the likes of Victor Osimhen, Ivan Toney and Alexander Isak.

“We’re NOT planning to sign any free agent striker, we will work with the players we have,” Maresca said as quoted by Fabrizio Romano.

“We’re also NOT blocking Deivid Washington’s exit on loan, he’s in talks,” he added.

Maresca’s side currently sit in the fourth position on the Premier League table with 43 points from 24 games.

Chelsea head to the Brighton game following a 2-1 win against West Ham in their last Premier League tie earlier this month.

The Blues lost 2-1 against Brighton in the FA Cup the last time both teams met last week.
