Ugandan club to hold special prayer for late forward Lawal

Ugandan club Vipers SC have announced that they will hold a special prayer for their late striker, Abubakar Lawal.

The event will take place at St. Mary’s Stadium, Kitende, on Thursday.

It will be open to the public, allowing fans and well wishers to pay their final respects.

Vipers have also announced that Lawal’s family has requested for his body to be repatriated to Sokoto State in the northern part of Nigeria.

Club President, Dr Lawrence Mulindwa, has pledged to cover all costs involved, and the necessary documentation is currently being processed.

The police in Uganda are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the tragic death of the former Kano Pillars player, who allegedly fell from the third floor of Voice Mall Shopping Arcade on Monday morning.
