Gov Buni convenes emergency security meeting ahead of Ramadan

The Yobe State Government, on Thursday, held a routine State Security Council meeting ahead of the Ramadan period.

The governor, Mai Mala Buni, represented by his deputy, Idi Barde Gubana, said the meeting was necessary to review and analyse the security situation across the state to ensure that citizens observe Ramadan safely and that their property is adequately protected.

According to him, Ramadan comes with many activities, including preaching, seminars, and congregational prayers, all of which require the presence of security operatives at the venues where such activities take place.

He further explained that during this period, some bad elements take advantage of the occasion to perpetrate crimes.

Buni commended the efforts of security agencies in maintaining law and order and urged them to do more.

The governor also appreciated the efforts of traditional rulers and community leaders in conflict resolution within their various domains. He further appealed to Islamic preachers to adhere to the rules and regulations set by the Da’awa committee to promote the exemplary life of the Prophet of Islam (PBUH).
