2026 World Cup qualifier: Zimbabwe captain to miss Super Eagles clash

Zimbabwe will be without captain Marvelous Nakamba for their 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying fixture against the Super Eagles of Nigeria.

The midfielder, who plays for Sky Bet Championship club Luton Town, sustained a calf injury in the Hatters’ 2-0 defeat to Watford last weekend.

Nakamba is expected to be sidelined for around six weeks.

The 31-year-old’s absence will be a big blow for the Warriors, who are still searching for their first win in the qualifying series.

Zimbabwe occupy bottom spot in Group C with two points from four matches.

The Warriors will be away to the Super Eagles at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium, Uyo, on Tuesday, 25 March.
