El-Rufai meets with Aregbesola, Tunde Bakare

Former Governor of Kaduna State, Nasir El-Rufai, has visited former Minister of Interior, Rauf Aregbesola, and Pastor Tunde Bakare in Lagos.

El-Rufai’s media adviser, Muyiwa Adekeye, revealed this on X on Sunday.

“Malam Nasir @elrufai was in Lagos today to visit Ogbeni @raufaregbesola and Pastor Tunde Bakare,” Adekeye tweeted.

El-Rufai’s meeting with both men comes days after he also paid a visit to former President Muhammadu Buhari in Kaduna.

His visit to Lagos has sparked fresh speculation about his political future and possible strategic alliances ahead of the 2027 elections.

Aregbesola, a two-term governor of Osun State and former ally of President Bola Tinubu, recently defected from the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, following a protracted crisis within the party in Osun State.

Bakare, on the other hand, is a prominent political figure and a former presidential aspirant under APC.
